Students at the Melbourne Conservatorium have access to an excellent collection of period instruments.
Carla has an holistic approach to horn playing, which is expressed through her teaching style. She has devoted years of study to learning how to use the body as efficiently and dynamically as possible to optimise both the musical results achieved and the level of enjoyment. Carla is very interested in the psychological aspects of performance and practice, and has personal experience with various mental techniques for optimising performance and enjoyment, in addition to having undertaken study in some Psychology subjects to fuel her interest.
Carla is a strong believer in the importance of establishing good fundamentals and technique to allow students to thrive and best attain their musical goals. Thanks to her years of study with a number of top horn pedagogues in Europe she has a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area.
